How is the student's default campus determined when they initially enter the Student Center?

Details

If a student accesses the Student Center via the "Student Center" icon in their myCampus LaunchPad, they will land in the campus Student Center that corresponds with whichever myCampus portal they clicked that icon from.

If accessing the Student Center from the Maine Law or University of Maine System myCampus portals, or via the MaineStreet portal (mainestreet.maine.edu) :

A sequence of checks occurs to identify the student’s default campus view:

  • Check Student Records:
  • Check enrollments for most recent term
  • Check term activation for most recent term

   Check Admissions:

  •  Check for most recent active program
  •  Check most recent pre-matriculated row
  •  Check most recent admitted row
  •  Check most recent waitlisted row
  •  Check most recent applied row
  •  Check most recent cancelled row

The next time a student enters the Student Center via this path, the system will use cookies to direct the student to the campus view they were last in when they exited the Student Center.

If a student clears their cookies or uses another computer, the initial check will occur again.

Students can toggle between campuses in the Student Center by selecting the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Select Institution from the drop-down menu.

  • In the pop-up window, select a campus.
  • Students will know they are viewing information from a different UMS campus because the campus branding within the application will change.
