This article will walk employees who have the Immunization Validator Role through validating student vaccination records in the University of Maine System Immunization Portal.
Instructions
- Using a web browser (PC/Mac, Tablet or Smartphone), visit the University of Maine Employee Immunization Portal. You will be taken to the UMS login page where you will be asked to enter your username and password.
- Choose yes, if on your own work computer.
- Once verified, you will be taken back to the app.

On the home page, click the Web Apps box.

After clicking on Web Apps, the box will turn green, click on the blue Sign In button.

At first login, you will set up a location.
- Click OK
- Set Device location, click OK

Next, at the initial login, you will need to set up a PIN. The PIN is for the browser screen lock. If you are inactive for a few minutes the screen will lock and you need to enter the PIN instead of logging back into the system.
- Enter PIN, and confirm, then click Change PIN.

To validate a student’s immunization record, click Clearance Verification from the left-hand menu. You will see all students with ‘Immunization Review’ (note additional search criteria can be used to narrow down just this subset and/or campus).
- Select the student/document to review.
You will be able to review, acknowledge, validate, or correct the immunization record by clicking on the related area.

As an employee you can see if the student has met the criteria for compliance in the UMS Immunization Portal by looking at the patient record. Note: The authoritative source will be MaineStreet and the data will be uploaded to MaineStreet in the nightly process.
