Removing Captions in Kaltura

All videos that come into Kaltura are automatically machined captioned in US English for accessibility. Sometimes a user may wish to delete one or more captions that have been added to a video. This process guides you through how to delete any undesired caption tracks.

Instructions

1. Access your Kaltura "My Media" where your video is stored.  This can be via the Kaltura icon in your UMS Campus Portal Launchpad or from a Navbar in the Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS).
2. Select the video you wish to remove a caption from in your "My Media" by selecting the Pencil Icon (Edit) to the far right of the video's title.
3. Select "captions" from the sub-menu bar.
4. You will see a listing of all caption tracks embedded in the video.
5. Select the "X" (Delete) icon beside the caption track(s) that you wish to delete.
