SharePoint sites created by end users will have the "_0365" appended to their name by default. Official departmental sites can be created without the "_0365" and will instead have a campus designation.
There may be other cases in which a rename of a SharePoint site is requested and those may follow the same request process.
These sites will be vetted to ensure the name is appropriate for the requestor by the Campus Director of Campus Technology (DCT) or Operations Manager. Sites can not have apostrophes in their name and must have a named owner and co-owner.
Instructions
- Create a Ticket with T1
- The Ticket should be created as follows:
- Select Service Category "Computer, Hardware & Printing" and the Service Offering "OneDrive for Work and School"
- Set the subject to "Campus designation - SharePoint Site Name"
- In the comments add the SharePoint Site name, the campus designation, the site owner, and an alternate site owner.
- "@mention" the Director of Campus Technology and Ops Manager for the campus designation for approval.
- When the DCT or Ops Manager approves the request escalate to T3 - EUT
- EUT will rename the site or if needed create a new site following Create a New SharePoint Site
