Body
This article will outline how to secure Transact door access readers during a storm closure. This information in this article applies to all campuses that utilize Transact door access.
INFO: While USM uses "Daylock" as their storm closure door group, each campus may use a different door group for closures. Please verify with your campuses door access manager.
Instructions
- Campus receives alert of storm closure.
- At end of day prior to storm closure, login to the Transact door access software
- Once logged into the main Transact System Home, click the "Door Access Monitor" link in the top left
- Once logged into Transact Door Access Monitor, it will ask you to select your view. If you do not have any views created, you can select "All" and click ok.
- If you wish to create your own door views, please contact card.services@maine.edu for assistance
- You may receive a warning popup referencing "Alarms not loaded". It is safe to click ok and continue. If you do not receive this warning popup, continue to step 5.
- You will now see all the available Transact door readers you have the ability to manage. Click on the "Door Group" tab to easily sort.
- If you do not see a door that should be available in the list, please contact card.services@maine.edu with the information
- Once the door readers have been sorted by the group you want to manage, click the first door reader in the group and hold SHIFT on your keyboard.
- While still holding SHIFT, click the last door reader in the group. This will select all the door readers in between.
- With all of the doors you want to manage selected, now click the blue "Change Door State" link in the top left of the program.
- Select the drop down and select "Controlled", then select the "Cancelled" override radial button
- DO NOT SELECT "LOCKED". THIS WILL RENDER THE READER INOPERABLE
- If selecting "Next Scheduled Door State Change" radial button, the readers will go back into normal operation mode on the next scheduled door state change. This is not what we want for storm closures.
- Once your options are set, click the green "Request Override" button. This will initiate the override.
- When the storm closure is complete and campus is open, repeat steps 7. 8. and 9. Then click the blue "Cancel Override" button.
