Body
This will outline the details and basic tips and tricks for operating the equipment in Payson-Smith's Lecture Hall in room 303.
Details
Room 303 in Payson-Smith is one of the lecture halls located on the USM Portland Campus. You can operate most of the audiovisual (AV) equipment from the controller built into the wall of the classroom. Other pieces of in-room equipment include:
- Computer
- Lectern Monitor
- LCD Projectors
- Laptop Connection (HDMI & VGA)
- Speakers
- Document Camera
Operating the Equipment
Most of the room's equipment is controlled by a controller located on classroom wall behind the lectern. From here, you can operate most of the classroom equipment.
- Display allows you to turn the system on or off, including the projectors and the speakers.
- Volume allows you to control the volume of the room's speakers using a dial.
- On the right side of the panel, there is a series of white buttons with the names of Inputs that you can select to connect to the system's speakers and projector.
- PC will connect the system to the in-room PC, located in a cabinet beneath the lectern.
- If you wish to use the PC, make sure it is turned on. You can use the room's wireless keyboard and mouse to interact with the PC. Once you are finished using the PC, please shut it down before you leave the classroom.
- HDMI will connect the system to the device currently plugged into the lectern's HDMI cable.
- DOC CAM will connect the system to the classroom's document camera.
- All blank buttons do not have connections running to them and cannot be selected.
- Beneath the white input buttons there are two red Projector buttons. These allow you to turn either of the projectors on or off independently while the system is on.
When you are finished using the room's equipment, best practice is to power everything down before you leave. If you used the in-room PC, please shut that down first. Hit the Off button on the controller to power down the speakers and both projectors.
