What is a UMS CopyCard?

  • A UMS CopyCard is a way to provide community members and the general public access to the library services, such as printing and copying.

How do I add funds to my UMS CopyCard?

  • You can add funds by visiting the circulation desk at any University of Maine System library and ask to deposit funds onto your UMS CopyCard
  • If you are on the USM or UM campus, you can also visit the PHIL stations located in the libraries to add funds using a self-service option

Why is my UMS CopyCard not working?

  • Check the back of the UMS CopyCard for a UMS Code. This code will be located in the top right hand corner of the back of the card
    • UMS CopyCards that do not have a UMS Code on the back does not have the correct NFC technology to be read at the XEROX devices
    • If your UMS CopyCard does not have the UMS Code, you can exchange your card at your local campuses library for a free replacement and balance transfer
      • Balance transfers are sent to the Card Services financial processing department and may take up to 48 hours to fully transfer

Where can I use my UMS CopyCard?

  • At any XEROX printer or copier located at all University of Maine System libraries

Who should get a UMS CopyCard?

  • UMS CopyCards are meant to be used by community members, however anyone can purchase and use a UMS CopyCard

What happens if I lose my UMS CopyCard?

  • If you are able to provide proof of purchase along with the UMS CopyCard number, the funds can be transferred to a UMS CopyCard replacement
    • As UMS CopyCards have no identifiable information on them, without the proof of purchase, there is no way to validate who the funds on the card belong to
