Changed job to grayscale or duplex settings at the printer, but still printed with old settings

Summary

How to resolve issue with job changes at the printer not working by disabling Advanced Printing Features

Body

PaperCut MF offers the opportunity to change job settings at the printer, such as whether a job is grayscale or duplex, but if Enable Advanced Printing Features is checked in the driver for the print queue, then PaperCut will be unable to change job settings at the printer. If changing job settings at the printer does not work, then follow the instructions below to Disable Advanced Printing Features. (Although if you are utilizing Stapling and hole punch features on a printer, then you may need Advanced Printing Features on, so you will just need to make sure to send the job the way you want and not change job details at the printer.)

Solution

  1. Open Printers & Scanners
  2. Click on the printer queue to select, then click Manage
  3. Click Printer Properties
  4. Click on the Advanced tab
  5. near the bottom of the window, uncheck the box next to Enable advanced printing features
  6. Click OK

Windows Printer Properties window with Enable Advanced printing features unchecked
