PaperCut Client does not pop up for account selection

How to fix issue of PaperCut Client not popping up to prompt for account selection or authentication

Body

There is a known issue with some older versions of the PaperCut Client in that it fails to pop-up for Unauthenticated users or for users to select account to charge. This issue is supposed to be resolved in the latest version of the PaperCut Client, so if you are experiencing this issue, follow the directions in this article.

Solution 

INFO: Installing applications using the UMS Application Catalog or Software Center does NOT require administrator rights on the computer.
  1. Ensure the computer is connected to a wired University connection, EduRoam wifi or the Remote Access VPN
  2. Install the latest PaperCut Client

macOS

  1. Open the UMS Application Catalog application
  2. Search for PaperCut
  3. Install the PaperCut Enterprise app
    • It includes PaperCut v23.0.7 and the latest PaperCut Print Deploy Client

Windows 

  1. Open up Software Center
  2. Search for PaperCut
  3. Install the PaperCut 23.0.7 package

Environment

  • University-managed computer
  • macOS 11 Big Sur or later
  • Microsoft supported versions of Windows
  • PaperCut MF
  • Managed Print Services (Xerox)
