Course Details Coding Data Issue Documentation

Issue Summary

Courses offered across the UMS campuses currently utilize a range of methodologies for encoding logistical information regarding course sections, such as where and how the course will meet. The projects of this workgroup put forth proposals for consistent coding of items such as course location, campus, facility, attributes, sessions, and notes. This work complements the 2020 UMS Instruction Modes project, which provided consistent coding and definitions for course delivery methodologies. The Course Details workgroup & projects are intended to provide further alignment across the coding of UMS courses, benefiting students with clear, consistent information, easing reporting through improved data quality, and ensuring transparency for all university stakeholders.
