Feature Availability

Zoom AI Companion is included at no additional cost for users with paid Zoom services. Features available to users depend on the services assigned to their accounts:

  • Zoom Meetings: Features such as meeting summaries, smart recordings, and in-meeting questions are available for users with paid Zoom Meetings licenses.
  • Zoom Phone, Revenue Accelerator, Contact Center: Users with these paid services gain access to features such as call summaries and voicemail tasks.
  • Zoom Workplace Licenses: Paid users under this plan receive AI Companion features across all included services.
  • Basic (Free) Users: Access is limited to specific features, such as Team Chat Compose, on an interim basis.

Note: AI Companion may not be available to select verticals or regional customers.


Protected/Prohibited Data

Please note that according to our agreements with Zoom, AI Companion data will be protected at the same level as other Zoom data. Please remember that certain types of data, must not be used with Zoom AI Companion including:

  • HIPAA-protected information

  • Export Control data

  • Department of Defense - Controlled Unclassified Information

  • Thread summary: Summarize chat threads for efficient comprehension.
Mail
  • Email compose: Suggest content for composing and replying to emails.
Whiteboard
  • Content generation: Generate and refine ideas, content, and visual elements.
Events
  • Smart compose: Create event descriptions, speaker bios, and more.
  • Image generation: Generate event images using AI.
  • Email compose: Write event-related emails with suggested content.
Phone
  • Call summary: Auto-generate and share summaries of phone call conversations.
  • Voicemail tasks: Summarize voicemail tasks for efficient response management.
Clips
  • Generate titles and descriptions: Use AI to create metadata for video clips.
Docs
  • Content generation: Use AI to create and revise document content.

Using Zoom AI Companion

In Zoom Meetings
  • Meeting Summary: The host can enable the meeting summary feature to generate a real-time summary, shared automatically with the host and optionally with participants.
  • In-Meeting Questions: Participants can ask AI Companion to summarize meeting progress or provide clarifications.
  • Smart Recordings: Organize meeting recordings into chapters and highlights with additional analytics.
In Team Chat
  • Draft messages and summarize threads using AI-powered suggestions.
In Zoom Mail and Whiteboards
  • Compose and reply to emails or refine whiteboard ideas with AI tools.
