How to Claim Host in Zoom Rooms
If you need to take control of a meeting from a Zoom Room, follow these steps.
From the Zoom Room Controller
- Join the meeting from the Zoom Room.
- Tap "Participants" on the Zoom Room controller.
- On the Participants panel, tap "Claim Host".
- Enter the Host Key.
- Use the 6-digit host key associated with the Zoom account that scheduled the meeting.
- The host key can be found in your Zoom profile settings under Meeting > Host Key.
- Tap OK. You now have host controls such as mute, screen share, record, and more.
Don't Know Your Host Key?
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Navigate to Settings > Meeting.
- Scroll down to find your Host Key. You can also edit it for security.
INFORMATION: You must join the meeting from the Zoom Room before claiming host. The host key only works if no other host is present or if the host has joined but assigned no alternative hosts.
