How do you shutdown a frozen MacBook Pro?

How to shutdown a frozen MacBook Pro without the power button.

Newer MacBook Pros do not have a power button.  Follow the instructions below to shutdown your laptop.

Instructions

If you do have a power button:
  1. From the Apple menu select the Restart or Force Quit Command
  2. If you cannot click the Restart or Force Quit Command
    • Hold down the Power Button for several seconds
      • or Control plus Command keys and then press the power button.
    • Your MacBook should shut down
    • After which you should be able to restart your MacBook Pro
If you do not have a power button:
  1. Press and hold Control and Command plus the Eject button

  • If no Eject Button press the Touch ID button.
  • Keep the buttons held down for about 10 seconds
  • Your Mac's screen should go black
  • After which you should be able to restart your MacBook Pro.
