How do I get Administrator access on my Windows computer?

You are prompted for Administrator Rights when installing an application or update. 

Instructions 

1. Obtain the computer host name:  
   Click the start button
   Type "cmd" (without the quotes) and press ENTER 
   In the black background window that appears, type "hostname" (without the quotes) and press ENTER
   Your computer hostname will be displayed on the next line. 

2. Contact the IT Help Desk at 1-800-686-4357 or send an email to help@maine.edu to request Administrator Rights, provide your UMS Account Userid and the computer host name.

3. Your request will be routed to a technician for review and next steps.
