How to Install and License ArcGIS Pro

How to download, install, and license ArcGIS Pro with ArcGIS Online account.

Detailed Instructions

Downloading ArcGIS Pro

1. Visit the UMS ArcGIS Online portal
2. Click your username in the upper right and select My Settings.
3. Click Licenses on the left
4. Search for ArcGIS Pro and click the "Download ArcGIS Pro" link.
5. In the following window click Download

Installing ArcGIS Pro

1. Run the ArcGISPro install
2. Select Next on the destination folder prompt (this is just where it extracts temporary install files)
3. Make sure Launch the Setup Program is checked and click Close.
4. Click Next on the first two ArcGIS Pro Setup screens
5. Read and Accept the Master Agreement and click Next
6. Select Anyone who uses this computer (all users) and click Next
7. Select any additional features you want to install and click Next
8. Check or uncheck the box to participate in the ESRI User Experience Improvement program (this is optional) and click Install.
9. Leave Run ArcGIS Pro now checked and click Finish to launch ArcGIS Pro for the first time.

Licensing ArcGIS Pro

1. On the ArcGIS Pro Sign In page Click Your ArcGIS organization's URL​​​​​​
2. Enter: ums in the text box so the full address reads: ums.maps.arcgis.com, check Remember this URL and click Continue
3. Click the Sign in Using Browser link in the bottom right (using the University of Maine System button will not work) If asked to Always Sign in Using Browser click Yes.
4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 in your browser
5. Click the blue University of Maine System button to be redirected to the UMS Single Sign On page to sign in.
6. After signing in your browser will prompt to open ArcGIS Pro. Check Always allow ums.maps.arcgis.com to open links and click Open
7. ArcGIS should open again and you should see your account name in the top right hand corner of the program.
