If the display language of Microsoft Office Online is not in your preferred language, it can be changed using the language settings in the Edge browser (Windows) or Mac OS settings.
Instructions
Windows OS
- Open the Edge browser.
- Navigate to the three horizontal dots on the upper right of the toolbar (...)and click them to show a drop-down menu.
- Scroll down the list of options to Settings (the gear icon) and click to expand again.
- On the far left of the settings window, select “Languages”
- If you do not see the language you wish to use in the list,
- Click the “Add” button on the right. In the pop-up windows, either use the search bar or scroll to the language of your choice.
- Check the box to select the language, and then click the “Add” button. Your selected language should now be in the list of languages.
- If your preferred language is at the top of the list, close and reopen Edge, and your Office apps will now reflect your choice.
- If your preferred language is NOT at the top of the list,
- click the three horizontal dots (...) to the right of the language.
- Choose “Move to the top” from the list of options.
- Close and reopen Edge
Your Office apps will now show your preferred language.
Mac OS
Change the system language
- In System Preferences, click Language & Region
- Click General
- Select a language from the list
- If the language is not already in the list, click the + button to add
Change the language preference for Chrome
- In System Preferences, click Language & Region
- Click Apps
- Select the app, then choose a language from the pop-up menu
- If the language isn't in the list, click the + button to add one
- If the app is open, close and reopen it for the change to take effect
