Installing your TransAct System Enterprise software client

This article is intended to provide a step by step guide for installation, and troubleshoot common installation issues with the TransAct System Enterprise client.

Installation

INFO: Local administrator rights on your PC is required to run this installation file. If you do not have administrative rights, please contact the US:IT Help Desk. Sodexo staff will need to contact Sodexo IT instead of the US:IT Help Desk.
  1. Download the TransAct setup file located here;

      1. If you receive a message from Google Drive stating "Detected issues with your download", press the "Download anyway button".

      2. If you are using the Edge browser, you will receive an error when downloading, stating "TransAct.exe isn't commonly downloaded..." To continue, click the "..." to the right, and click "Keep"

      3. After clicking "Keep", you may receive another error stating "Make sure you trust TransAct.exe before you open it". Click the "Show More" option, and choose "Keep anyway"

  2. Once downloaded, run the file and follow the prompts to continue.
    1. If you receive the windows pop up "Windows protected your PC", click "More Info", and then "Run anyway" (Example below)

    3. After the setup is complete, you will see a new icon on your desktop called TransAct​​​​

Once Transact is fully installed, do not launch Transact until this next step is completed.

Without this being done Transact will not work.

 

  1. Download this updated file;  TransActTSE
  2. On downloading a alert dialog box may appear (shown below), select "Download anyway"

When you have this type of alert, you will need to go to the download icon in your browser and click on the  right arrow  and in the next window
select "Download suspicious file" to complete the download process.

 

  1. This downloaded file will need to be copied to the local "C" drive in the Transact\WSUpdate folder.
  2. In your search area of your computer, the bottom left corner of your screen where the magnifying glass icon resides, type in  "C:\Transact\WSUpdate", select open file location from the right side of this search window.
  3. Copy the updated file "TransActTSE" from your downloads folder into this folder. A dialog box will appear, select "Replace the file in the destination". If it does not ask you this, then the file name that you downloaded may have a number attached to the end of the file name, which will need to be removed before copying it into this WSUpdate folder. The existing file in this folder must be replaced.
  4. When you launch Transact now it will ask you if you want to store the key into the cache, type "y" and hit return. Now it will ask if you want to install the latest version of Transact software, type "y" and hit return. This will now remove all the older Transact files from your computer and then install the latest version of Transact client software. Once it is done removing all the old files it will just quit. Open up Transact and you should now see your Transact log in window.
