iClicker Network Prerequisite

When using iClicker in a classroom at the UMaine campus you should connect to Eduroam WiFi.

WARNING: Please do not use "MaineEDU-Guest" or "Tempest."

If you connected to MaineEDU-Guest or Tempest WiFi in the past, it is important to 'remove' and 'forget' them on your devices as a preferred network. Doing this ensures that your device does not unintentionally connect to them.

  • Best Network Experience - Eduroam connections for iClicker and other UMS applications.
  • Average or Poor Experience - Using Tempest or MaineEDU-Guest results in poor connections or disconnection from iClicker and may cause you missing and/or delayed scores. 

Verify or create your iClicker Student account

  1. Navigate to iClicker Student Login Window
    • In the dropdown under Need to sign in through your campus portal? select University of Maine Orono and click Go to be redirected to the UMS Single-Sign On page.
    • If you do not have an account, use the "Don't have an account? Sign up!" to create your iClicker student account and proceed to step 2.
  2. Type in "University of Maine Orono" and click "next" to confirm your institution and be redirected to the UMS Single-Sign On page.
    • WARNING: Your iClicker Student credentials must match your BrightSpace credentials (University @maine.edu address and your MaineStreet ID number) for your grades to synchronize in BrightSpace.
  3. Confirm your information, agree to Privacy Notice and Terms of Use, and click Create Account.
INFO: For new and existing accounts, your courses should automatically appear once your instructor opens the class publicly. 

If you do not see your class, double-check your iClicker Profile Settings to ensure that your credentials match in iClicker Student and BrightSpace.
