Payroll Schedule

The Pay Frequency is determined by the employee's primary job.  Employees with multiple jobs will be paid on only one payroll frequency, either biweekly or monthly to ensure compliance with tax withholding rules. 

The payroll schedule includes deadlines for time approval and paperwork.

Information

The University has two pay frequencies (represents paygroup):

  • Monthly (MON):
    • Regular Salaried employees including Non-Represented, UMPSA, AFUM;
    • PATFA unit members;
    • Graduate Assistant stipends;
    • Temporary employees paid at least 3000 times Maine's minimum wage
  • Biweekly:
    • (BWK) Regular Hourly-paid employees including Non-Represented, ACSUM, Service & Maintenance & Police (excluding sworn officers); Temporary hourly-paid employees
    • (BWL) Regular Hourly-paid Law Enforcement (sworn police officers) in Police union including Temporary hourly-paid Law Enforcement sworn police officers)
    • (BWT) Temporary salaried employees paid less than 3000 times Maine's minimum wage
    • (STU) Temporary hourly-paid student workers

Important:  All pay earned for the pay period must be included in the corresponding pay cycle to comply with Maine's Timely and Full Payment of Wages statute.

The schedule shows dates for normal payroll processing as well as emergency off-cycle payroll processing.
