This article provides historical information regarding the 2022 Data Governance project focused on improving the capturing of the Study Abroad/Away students in system-wide retention reports.

Issue Summary

In order to ensure that UMS students who are studying abroad (or away) are captured in the system-wide retention reports, a review of how these students are tracked was completed. Of the seven UMS campuses, only three regularly have study abroad students. These three campuses have varying means of tracking their study abroad students using the Study Agreement page in Mainestreet with codes for Form of Study (below). This workgroup will propose consistent procedures for tracking study abroad and study away to enable accurate retention reporting.
