This document outlines how to change your UMS Single Sign-On (SSO) password used for Mainestreet, Gmail, Brightspace, etc.

Instructions

INFO: This process requires your username and current password. If you do not know your password or your password expired more than 180 days ago, use the Password Recovery option instead.
  1. Navigate to the UMS User Account Management page.
  2. Click the “Change your password” link.
  3. Log in with current credentials (this page will accept an expired password).
    WARNING: Your username is the beginning of your email address, do not include @maine.edu. You will receive an error message if your username is entered incorrectly.
  4. Enter your current (or expired) password
  5. Type your new password
  6. Confirm your new password
  7. Select “Change Password”
  8. Be aware that the fields you entered will go blank this is normal. Wait for the website to process your request prior to entering any additional information or navigating away from the page. This may take several minutes.
  9. You will see a message printed on screen advising you of a successfully changed password.
INFO: It may take up to 15 minutes for your new password to take effect.
