Summary
The following are instructions on how to install SPSS on USM managed computers.
SPSS can be accessed from privately owned computers by remoting into our lab computers.
Body
SPSS can be accessed remotely on personally owned computers or installed on Windows and Apple computers owned by USM
Instructions for downloading and installing SPSS on Managed UMS devices.
Windows Systems owned by USM:
- Open the Software Center, also known as the Application Catalog.
- Find the SPSS icon and click on it.
- If it prompts you for approval, describe why you need the software and click the Request button.
- When it is approved return to the Software Center and click on the Install button.
Apple/Mac Systems owned by USM:
- Email help@maine.edu to request “Access to the SPSS application for Macs”
- You will receive an email saying that you have been granted access or asking for more information.
- Uninstall any previous version installed if needed.
- Open the UMS Applicaction Catalog app.
- Log in with your UMS username and password in the lower left of the screen.
- Search for and install IBM SPSS Statistics 29 (or the latest version).
- Search for and install IBM SPSS Statistics 29 Activation (or the latest version).
Personally owned Windows or Apple/Mac systems:
- The University of Southern Maine does not currently offer SPSS on Non-UMS managed devices.
- SPSS is available on lab and classroom computers around campus.
- Lab computers can be accessed remotely from personal computers.
