Body

All University of Maine System students and employees receive a university ID, which provides access to campus facilities, services, and optional spending accounts. During a card services (Transact) outage or upgrade, some of these services are temporarily unavailable, while others will remain accessible with limited functionality. The list below outlines which services are affected.

What services are affected?

We’ve grouped the impacted services into two categories to help you quickly understand what will and won’t be available during upgrades or outages.

🚧 Services with interrupted access

These services will be unavailable or require a temporary work-around.
You won’t be able to log in, launch software, or complete certain tasks until service is restored.

  • Pay-for-Print and Pay-for-Copy systems will require a manual login process.
    • Active students can use a temporary shared account for printing.
    • Guest or Copy Card users will not be able to print or copy.

  • ID card production and Instant ID stations will be offline.
  • Off-campus purchasing using your ID Card will be offline 
  • Attendance tracking devices (MF4100, PR5000) will be offline.
  • Transact eAccounts accessed via myCampus or mobile app (used to view or add funds to campus card accounts) will be unavailable. 

✅ Services with no disruption expected

You’ll still be able to use these services during the upgrade.
Some real-time features like balance checks or access updates will be temporarily paused and will resume once the system is back online.

  • Door and elevator access readers will continue to function normally during the outage.
    • Any new access permissions or schedule changes will not take effect until the system is back online.
  • Dining transactions will continue to work.
    • Balance checks will not be available.
    • Transactions will be cached and will post once the system reconnects.
    • Accounts may show a temporary negative balance if funds were insufficient at the time of purchase.
  • Laundry machines will continue to operate.
