How to print when Transact is offline for an Upgrade

During a Transact outage while it is being upgraded, Card swipe lo in to the copier and the link to Personal printing/copying funds will not work. That is why users will need to temporarily change their printing process during the outage.

Instructions

Alternative log-in options

Option 1 requires going to a website first to get their ID PIN code, but will result in faster logins for those who print often. Option 2 will take longer to enter the user ID and password at the device but may work well for someone who doesn't print much.

Option 1: Support ID Number Authentication

  1. Log into https://print.maine.edu and select “Change Details” in the left menu
  2. Select the “Generate number” button if you wish to create a new random PIN.
  3. Note the 5-digit number generated, this number will be used in step 5 below for log-in
  4. At the Xerox device, click the "Keyboard" icon on the Xerox Touch Panel
  5. The user enters the above PIN number generated in or noted above

The user is authenticated on the device providing the same user experience. "Welcome, <user's name>!" will show in the upper left of the display panel once successfully authenticated.
