The verification code option for Duo Push provides additional security against push harassment and fatigue attacks by asking the user to enter a verification code while approving a Duo Push authentication request. It also provides improved fraud reporting from end users by directing them toward the fraud report option in Duo Mobile when they receive unexpected Duo Push login requests.
Instructions
- Start signing in to a University of Maine System service.
- The Duo Prompt will show a 3-digit code.
- Open Duo Mobile on your phone.
- Tap the login request.
- Enter the 3-digit code shown on the computer into Duo Mobile.
- Tap Verify to approve the login.

INFO: You must enter the exact code shown on your computer. Each login attempt has a different code.
WARNING: If you receive a Duo Push request that you did not start, do not approve it and report the incident to IT.
