The Classroom and Audiovisual Technology team provides consultation for audiovisual systems and equipment updates in classrooms, conference/seminar rooms or other spaces.  If your department is considering an update to existing classroom and audiovisual equipment, installing new equipment or need information related to audiovisual and classroom technology costs, submit this form.

Seminar/Conference/Huddle

Presentation

Presentation systems for these spaces allow in-room participants to see and hear multimedia content provided by individuals in the room.  They often include a display, ability for laptop connection, and sound amplification.

Web conferencing

Web-conferencing systems for these spaces allow in-room and remote participants to be seen and heard.  Additionally the system allows all participants to display and hear multimedia presentation content.  They often include a display, ability for laptop connection, and a camera/microphone/speaker bar.

Lecture Classroom

Presentation systems for these spaces all in-room participants to see and hear multimedia content provided by the instructor/presenter and with permission the students and audience members.  They often include a projector/display, ability for laptop connection, and sound amplification.

Web conferencing

Web conferencing systems for these spaces allow for in-room and remote participants to be heard and the lecturer/presenter to be seen and heard.  Additionally the system allows all participants to display and hear multimedia presentation content.  They often include a projector/display, ability for laptop connection, ceiling microphones and a PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) camera directed at the instructor/presenter. 

Auditorium/Large Lecture Hall

Presentation systems for these spaces allow in-room participants to see and hear multimedia content provided by the instructor/presenter.  The system is also essential to ensure that the students/audience members are able to hear the instructor/presenter(s) speaking.  They often include a projector, a large projection screen, room computer, the ability for laptop connection, and sound and voice amplification.

Web conferencing

Web conferencing systems for these spaces allow for in-room and remote participants to be heard and the lecturer/presenter to be seen and heard.  Additionally the system allows all participants to display and hear multimedia presentation content.  They often include a projector, a room computer, ability for laptop connection, instructor/presenter microphone and a PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) camera directed at the instructor/presenter.  Please note that the audience does not have voice reinforcement to in-room or remote participants.

Collaborative Active Learning Classroom

Presentation System

Presentation systems in these spaces allow groups of students to display multimedia content to their or any other group monitors located in the room.  The instructor/presenter has control over the system to display either their own or any student/audience member multimedia content to any display.  They often include multiple displays (usually 6 students/audience members per group), ability for laptop connections, and instructor/presenter microphone to be heard over students/audience members.

Laboratory Classroom

Presentation systems for these spaces all in-room participants to see and hear multimedia content provided by the instructor/presenter and with permission the students and audience members.  They often include a projector/display, ability for laptop connection, and sound amplification.

Web conferencing

Web conferencing systems for these spaces allow for in-room and remote participants to be heard and the lecturer/presenter to be seen and heard.  Additionally the system allows all participants to display and hear multimedia presentation content.  They often include a projector/display, ability for laptop connection, ceiling microphones and a PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) camera directed at the instructor/presenter.

Multipurpose Rooms

Presentation

Presentation systems for these spaces allow in-room participants to see and hear multimedia content provided by the instructor/presenter in each individual room as well as a combination of the rooms.  The system is essential for ensuring that students/audience members are able to hear the instructor/presenter speaking.  They often include multiple projectors, ability for laptop connections and sound and voice amplification.

Customization

The selection of this type of system is available to all of the above room types.  It is typically dependent on a number factors including room sizes, lighting systems, technology not offered in the typical setup of the space.  Customizations can included multiple monitor/projector setups, additional control locations, interactive monitors, press feeds, and in some instances the addition of web conferencing equipment.
