How-To connect Remote Access VPN on iOS

How to use the OpenVPN Connect client on iOS to connect the Remote Access VPN.

Instructions

1. Download the OpenVPN Connect client from the App Store or Self Service on JAMF Managed iPads.
2. Navigate to https://vpn.maine.edu from the iOS device.
3. Click Remote Access VPN and the Remote Access VPN button the next page
4. Login with your UMS credentials
5. Click the Device button
6. Click the Add Device button
   • Under Description, give your device an identifying name (example: Marks iPad)
7. Click Add Device
8. In the box for your new profile, click the Alternative Download link and download the file
9. Click the file in your downloads list in your browser to open the file.
10. If you are on your home screen, you can click files to get to the profile.
11. Click the share button (square with an arrow) and select Copy to OpenVPN
12. OpenVPN should open, click the ADD button.
13. Click the ADD button in the top right hand corner and then Allow.
14. To enable to VPN, click the slider toggle in the OpenVPN client next to your profile and click Yes when it asks to enable to connection.
