This article will walk you through a new voicemail setup. This will include setting a PIN and recording the audio message that people will hear when they leave you a voicemail.
IMPORTANT: Anytime you are asked for your mailbox ID, you must enter your full 10-digit number.
DANGER: This process will ONLY work if the desk phone has been reset to the default PIN. If the user is NEW, and their phone belonged to someone else before them, they will likely need to have their phone information sent to Networkmaine to be reset to default.

Info: To exit at anytime during this process, hang up the phone or push * (star).
- Push the voicemail button on your Cisco IP Phone OR call your local campus number (will need to enter 10-digit phone number as mailbox id):

- Input the default PIN you received, then press # (pound). (if calling from off campus press * to login)
- If you do not know your PIN, or the PIN is not working, please contact the IT Helpdesk at https://itsupport.maine.edu.
- You will change your PIN later during setup.
- The next step is to make a Recorded Name, if you so choose. This is played when people get to your voicemail.
- If you wish to record a name, follow the prompts.
- If you wish to have no recorded name, press # to continue.
- The next step is to make a Personal Greeting, if you so choose. You will hear the default greeting.
- If you wish to edit please press 1 to record and follow the prompts.
- If you are ok with the default getting, press # to continue.
- The next step is to make a new PIN. This step is required!
- Enter a new PIN, followed by #.
- The last step is if you want to be listed in the directory. This directory is accessed by phone menus and is not listed elsewhere. The default option is to be listed.
- If you wish to be not listed, press 1 to change your status and follow the prompts.
- If you are ok with the default settings or are done editing the directory settings, press # to continue.
