How do I work on Projects in TeamDynamix TDNext interface?

The IT Project Management Office uses TeamDynamix for project management activities. 

Certain Project Resources will have access to work on projects in TDNext.

Instructions

  1. Login to TDNext
  2. Open the Projects application
    • If you have not accessed the Project application before, select the Applications Menu from the top left of the menu bar and select "Projects"
    • If you have previously visited the Asset application, it will be shown in your menu bar
  3. In the left-hand menu, you will see a list of all projects that  you have access to work in. Select the Project that you wish to work with.
  4. Additional options will be presented in the menu under the project 
  5. All possible project components are listed and described below. Some components may not be used for all projects based on how the project is configured
  • Details
    • General information about the project including current status and update notes.
  • Team
    • Shows all Resources and Stakeholder associated with the project in TeamDynamix
  • Feed
    • "Audit" log for the project shows the history of edits and updates to the project.
  • Announcements
    • General announcements about the project. 
    • As a project resource you can add announcements by selecting the +New button 
  • Briefcase
    • Reference files that have been attached to the project.
    • As a project resource, you can add to the folder structure and add files via upload from your computer or from Google Drive or OneDrive.
  • Calendar
    • Events and tasks for this project displayed in a calendar format
  • Contacts
    • Contact information for all project resources, contacts, project managers, and stakeholders that have been added to the project.
    • As a project resource, you can add a Contact by selecting the +New button.  This SHOULD NOT be used to add contacts who are associated with the University of Maine System as it may create a duplicate record.
  • Issues
    • Log of items identified during the project
    • In TeamDynamix "Issues" may be
      • Change
      • Decision
      • Error/Bug
      • Issue/Problem
      • Lesson Learned
      • Question
    • As a project resource, you may add an issue by selecting the +New button. 
    • You may also provide update and comments on existing issues by selecting the issue to open the detail window.
  • Risks
    • Log of Threats or Opportunities identified during the project
    • As a project resource, you may add a risk by selecting the +New button. 
    • You may also provide update and comments on existing risks by selecting the issue to open the detail window.
  • Links
    • Links associated with the project. 
    • This may include links to folders for shared files, access links for applications, links to external support sites, etc.
    • As a project resource, you may add a link by selecting the +New button. 
  • Plans
    • Plans are the work structure for the project.
    • A project may have multiple plans and they may be represented as either waterfall plans or cardwall plans.

Finding Tasks Assigned to Me
