This article demonstrates how to update your notification preferences when the "Text Bubble" or "Bell" icons on the Brightspace page do not indicate when someone has responded to a class discussion post.
Solution
In order to reliably receive Update Alerts on your course Discussion Boards and threads, simply click the "Subscribe" star next to any board, post, or thread, you wish to follow.
Afterward, you should receive live updates as they are posted, depending on your SMS and/or email notification choices, and log-in availability.
- To update your Notification settings:
- Click on your user profile button
- Click notifications
- Scroll down to "Discussions", and check the appropriate box for SMS, or Email
