Blackboard Learn (LMS) Notice Service Shutdown 10/25/2020

This Article serves as a copy of the deprecation and shut down of BlackBoard-Learn (LMS), which ended support in October of 2020

Detailed Information

Copy of Message that went out to UMS Students, Staff, and Faculty August 28th, 2020

As of August 28, 2020,  The University of Maine System migrates from Blackboard to Brightspace as its learning management system.  After this date, students should only be accessing the UMS Blackboard site for finishing “incomplete” course work from prior semesters or downloading any of their own materials that they wish to save for their records.

Students will have regular access to Blackboard until October 12th, 2020.  After this time no student data will be archived, and access will be inhibited by removal of Blackboard Links from UMS portal launchpads but available using the direct URL.

Faculty may continue to access Blackboard through Oct. 25th, using the direct URL for access to data, but no data will be archived by IT after October 12th, 2020.  If you choose to allow students access after October 12th, please be sure to save their grades/ work for your own future needs.
