Apple will release its latest version of macOS called Sequoia (15) on September 16, 2024.
Many new features will be included in the latest release and because of that, End-User Technology has restricted access to download and install the latest version on all UMS-managed Apple computers. This will ensure we have enough time to evaluate the latest features and update standard applications to support the new operating system. As always, UMS:IT does not recommend upgrading your day-to-day, UMS-owned computer right away as it could potentially cause a disruption in your normal business operations.
Once End-User Technology has time to vet the operating system and update software installers, we will send an announcement along with making it generally available. This time frame is usually 60 days from release, however, can be extended up to 90 days from release if a critical business application has not been updated yet. If users have their own personal device that is not managed by UMS, they are okay to upgrade, but it is best practice to back up user data in case an application does not work properly.
