L-Soft Listserv and ADA Title II Compliance

Title II ADA Compliance Statement – UMS IT Listserv
The UMS IT Listserv software is committed to ensuring accessibility in accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We strive to make all communications shared through this Listserv accessible to individuals with disabilities and usable with assistive technologies.
While the Listserv platform supports accessible communication, compliance ultimately depends on the content submitted by individual message posters. All contributors are responsible for ensuring that the materials they distribute meet accessibility standards. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Providing meaningful alternative text (alt text) for images
  • Ensuring tables are structured and readable by screen readers
  • Using accessible document formats (e.g., tagged PDFs, properly formatted Word documents)
  • Avoiding color-only distinctions and ensuring sufficient contrast
  • Writing clear, descriptive link text

Listserv administrators may provide guidance and resources; however, they do not remediate or verify the accessibility of individual messages prior to distribution.

If you encounter accessibility barriers in Listserv content or need materials in an alternative format, please contact the Listserv administrator or the UMS IT accessibility team. We will make reasonable efforts to assist and improve accessibility where possible.
Our shared responsibility is to ensure equitable access to information for all members of the University of Maine System community.
