How to Install Adobe Apps for Named Users

Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop can be used on all UMS-managed Windows and macOS computers, well as personal devices. This is for users or departments that have already purchased a license through the Mainestreet Marketplace as described in the article How to purchase Adobe Apps

If you were previously licensed and have the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App installed, you do not need to reinstall as described below. Open the application, sign out, and sign back in, selecting the "University of Maine System" organization if prompted.

Instructions

Downloading and installing Adobe apps on UMS-Managed devices will be performed through the UMS Application Catalog or Software Center.

UMS-Managed Windows Computers:

  1. Open the Software Center, also known as the Application Catalog.
  2. Find the Adobe Creative Cloud icon and click on it.
  3. If it prompts you for approval, describe why you need the software and click the Request button.
  4. When it is approved return to the Software Center and click on the Install button.
  5. After the application has installed, launch it from the Start menu.
  6. Sign into Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop with your UMS account.
  7. If prompted with multiple organizations, click on University of Maine System.

UMS-Managed Apple Computers:

  1. Open the UMS Applicaction Catalog app.
  2. Log in with your UMS username and password in the lower left of the screen.
  3. Search for and install Adobe Creative Cloud.
  4. Click install.
  5. After the application has installed, launch it from the Applications folder.
  6. Sign into Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop with your UMS account.
  7. If prompted with multiple organizations, click on University of Maine System.

Personally owned Windows or Mac Computers:

  1. Named users may install Adobe Creative Cloud on their personally own computers.
  2. Visit www.adobe.com.
  3. Sign in with your UMS account.
  4. Click the user icon in the upper right corner of the website and select Install Creative Cloud Desktop.
  5. Once downloaded and installed, sign in with your UMS account to access your apps.
  6. Please note that if you sign into multiple computers with your named user license, it may deactivate the license on your University-owned computer and will require signing back in.

Environment
