Purpose: This article provides detailed steps for students to follow to update their address in MaineStreet.

Detailed Information

 

Yearly Address Update

Students will receive an email each year to update their contact information. Once they receive the email reminding them to update their contact information the students should follow the instructions below to complete the address update.

  1. Log into the Student Center in MaineStreet.
  • On your home page, check your To Do List (If using MaineStreet Classic) or

  • Tasks (If using the New MaineStreet Experience) and click on the Contact Information Verification.

  1. On the left, the Introduction will be highlighted. Carefully read the introduction dialogue box to determine which type of addresses you should have on file. This box will disappear once you click Mark as Read, then click Next.

  1. After clicking Next on the prior screen, you will be in the Addresses section.

  • Any addresses currently on file with the University of Maine System will show in the list.
  • Here you can edit the address(es) on file, or add others by clicking the "add a new address" button.
  • Please ensure that each address has the correct Address Type (From the previous screen) associated with it.
  • If you need to refer back, click "Next" to save any changes you have made, then chose Introduction from the progress list at left.
  • The Task Progress bar to the left of the addresses will keep you apprised of your progress.
  • Click "Next" when done.
  1. Continue through the screens to fill in Phone Numbers & Email Addresses.

  • Please check the types of Phone Numbers and types of Email Addresses you have on file, and add additional phone numbers and email addresses.
  • As noted in the introduction, university business is conducted via maine.edu email address; please forward your maine.edu email to a personal address if you prefer.
  • Finally ensure accuracy of your emergency contacts, or add them if you do not yet have any on file.

  1. Make additional corrections or additions to your information by selecting the item on the left that you would like to edit.

  • Click Finish (at the bottom of the screen) then Exit (Top right) when done

Making Changes after Completing this Guide

You can make additional updates throughout the year by one of the methods below:

  • In the new MaineStreet Experience
    • Choose My Profile from the left column, then Biographical Information.
    • Select the Contact Info tab to make changes.
  • In the MaineStreet Classic Student Center:
    • Select Demographic Data under the Personal Information Header,
    • Then select the Address tab to make changes.
