MFA Bypass Code

Description

If you're unable to complete Duo multi-factor authentication (MFA) and do not have access to your enrolled device or backup codes, you may request a one-time bypass code from the UMS IT Service Desk. This code allows temporary access and is issued only after identity verification.

Bypass codes are issued only by phone or walk-up. Requests cannot be fulfilled through email, tickets, or chat.

Required Information

Be prepared to provide the following when calling:

  • Your UMS user name (e.g., firstname.lastname) and ID number
  • Be prepared to answer verification questions
  • The reason you cannot complete MFA
