Applications are available through the UMS Application Catalog, now called Self Service+ to Macs enrolled in JAMF. Self Service+ is a custom App Store for the University.
WARNING: This only applies to University-managed macOS computers
Note: If prior authorization or purchase of software needed has not been completed you will need to request authorization for the software/program in question. In your request ensure to add Campus and Department Codes.
Instructions
To locate Self Service+:
- Open up Finder
- Select Go and then Applications
- Click the proper icon to open Self Service+.

WARNING: If Self Service+ is not under /Applications, then confirm with IT that the macOS computer is properly enrolled in JAMF.
How do I install applications?
Self Service+ has a listing of applications available for installation. View the Catalog by category or click on ALL to list them by name. If you know the name of the application you can also search by typing in what you want in the search box.

- If you do not see an application you believe you should, create a ticket with the Help Desk and be sure to include:
- Application name and version
- hostname of your computer you want to install it on
- username of the user on the computer you want it installed on
- Click "Login" in the lower left corner of the Self Service+ to sign in with your UMS ID and password.
What can I install?
- Applications that are available for installation on University-owned computers are available through the Self Service+.
- You can request a new application in the Self Service+ by sending an email to help@maine.edu, which will generate a service request ticket.
- Applications installed from sources other than the Self Service+ are not supported by Campus Services or End User Technology, unless they were approved and purchased through the University.
If a user has been granted administrative privileges on their computer, they should use caution when considering the applications that they want to install (and avoid freeware, shareware, and unsupported applications).
