Faculty, staff, and students can use Microsoft Teams, but it is currently NOT supported by the University Help Desk.
The SharePoint site that they are actually stored in gets deleted when the Team gets deleted, so any files stored in the Team get deleted. That SharePoint site has the same recovery window as a regular SharePoint site.
Teams meeting recordings are kept for 30 days, but they should be recoverable up to 120 days after recording. When they get removed, they go to the Teams' Sharepoint site's Recycle bin and a site co-owner can recover them. See Restore items in the recycle bin that were deleted from SharePoint or Teams.
