This article walks you through removing a multi-factor authentication (MFA) sign-in method from your University of Maine System (UMS) account, for example if you replaced a device or no longer use a method.
⚠️ WARNING: Keep at least one sign-in method on your account at all times. If you remove your only method, you may be locked out. If you lost the device for your only method, add a new method first, or contact the
IT Service Desk for help.
- Open a web browser and go to aka.ms/mysecurityinfo.
- Sign in to your account.
- Under "Security info," find the method you want to remove and click Delete next to it.
- When prompted, click OK to confirm.
- If you lost a device, click Sign out everywhere (listed below your sign-in methods).
