Enabling Third-Party Cookies on different Web/Mobile Browsers

To enable applications requiring 3rd party cookies for service, please follow the instructions below:

Solutions

To enable cookies in Google Chrome (PC):

  1. Select the Chrome menu icon
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, select Show advanced settings.
  4. In the "Privacy" section, select Content settings.
  5. Check the box next to "Allow third-party cookies" to be set (recommended).
  6. Close settings tab

To enable cookies in Google Chrome (Mac):

  1. Open Chrome preferences click on Settings, then Show Advanced Settings.
  2. Under Privacy and Security, click on Content Settings.
  3. Make sure "Block third-party cookies and site data" is not checked
  4. If your browser is not listed above, please refer to your browser's help pages.

To enable cookies in Google Chrome (Android):

  1. On your Android device, open the Chrome app.
  2. At the top right, tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Tap Site settings and then Cookies.
  4. Next to "Cookies," switch the setting on.
  5. To allow third-party cookies, check the box next to "Allow third-party cookies."

To enable cookies in Google Chrome (iOS):

  1. According to Google's official guidance, "cookies are automatically turned on and stay on." You may try clearing the cache and cookies instead.

To enable cookies in Safari (Mac):

  1. Go to the Safari drop-down menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click Privacy in the top panel.
  4. Uncheck Prevent cross-site tracking and Block all cookies.
  5. For increased security, once you have finished using the site, please change the Privacy setting back to Always.

To enable cookies in Safari (iPhone/iPad iOS 11):

  1. Open your Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Safari.

  3. Under Privacy & Security, turn off "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking" and "Block All Cookies".

To enable cookies in Safari (iPhone/iPad iOS 10):

  1. Open your Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Safari.
  3. Under Privacy & Security, select "Block Cookies".
  4. Select "Always Allow" or "Allow from Websites I Visit".

To enable cookies in Mozilla Firefox 80.0 :

  1. Click the Tools list, then Options.

  2. Click Privacy & Security on the left Panel.

  3. Select the radio button for "Standard", and the button for "manage exceptions", make sure to remove any blocked content for "courses.maine.edu"

To enable cookies in Microsoft Edge

  1. Click on your tools button in the upper right corner, and click settings

  2. Scroll down and click on "advanced Settings".

  3. Scroll down the list and use the "cookies" drop down to select "don't block cookies", and toggle on "let sites save protected media licenses on my device"

  4. You may need to restart your browser to proceed.

UPDATE:  Third Party Cookie Notification When Accessing Brightspace on Firefox Version 96.0.1 and above.

An update to Firefox 96.0.1 has caused a default configuration setting to change which will cause users in Brightspace to see the enable 3rd Party Cookies error message when viewing Kaltura content on that site.  The following adjustments need to be made in Firefox to clear the error.
