To sync Microsoft OneDrive for work or school files with your Windows computer, you need the Microsoft OneDrive sync app (included in Windows and also available for download here as a stand-alone client).

  1. To access Microsoft OneDrive for work or school the first time, go to http://office.com here.

  2. click Sign In icon in the upper right corner. At the first prompt, enter your UMS username followed by @maine.edu.

    1. Then select Work or school account.

    2. At the password prompt, enter your UMS password.

    3. Do not click anything on the sign-in pages other than Next and Sign in.

  3. Click Microsoft OneDrive to open Microsoft OneDrive.
  4. At the bottom left, click the link to switch to Classic View.
  5. While in Classic View, at the top, click Sync.
  6. When prompted, click Sync now.
  7. A "Launch Application" window should open.
  • If you have the Microsoft OneDrive sync app installed, select it and click OK.
  1. When the Microsoft OneDrive sync app opens, you can choose to change where the files will be synced locally.
  • When you have confirmed the settings, click Sync Now.
  1. The Microsoft OneDrive sync app will download a copy of your files hosted in the cloud, and sync them to the specified location on your computer, in a local Microsoft OneDrive for work or school folder.

  • This folder will be kept in sync with your Microsoft OneDrive for work or school storage; changes you make in one place will sync with the other.
