Instructions on naming or renaming a device used in Duo MFA.
Solution
The device name in the DUO App and in the management console are separate and changing one will not affect the other. While the displayed name does not impact the functionality of the association between personal devices and University MFA accounts, changing the device name must be done in both places independently for them to agree. This process will only change the displayed name which appears from the Duo Mobile Android / iOS app. For instruction on changing the device name in the management console, visit

Access the DUO app on your smart device
Select the "..." menu for the device you would like to rename
Select "Rename" in the resulting menu
Select the "Account name"
Type in the new device name
Select "Save"
