Duo Mobile Application Displays "Account Error" message.

When you attempt use the Duo Mobile Application on iOS, you receive the following error message:  "Account Error  Something unexpected happened, please contact your helpdesk.  You may also see an error code such "NSURLErrorDomain: -1200"

Solution

  • This error indicates that there is an unexpected server between your device and the Duo servers.
  • If you are on a device with cellular data connectivity, try disabling Wi-Fi networking, and using the cellular service.
  • Alternatively, you can perform the following Wi-Fi troubleshooting steps:
    1. Confirm that you are connected to the  Wi-Fi network you are expecting.
    2. Open your mobile browser to http://captive.apple.com -- if you receive anything other than "Success", you will need to resolve your connectivity issues.
