Using Turnitin Draft Coach with Google Docs

Turnitin Draft Coach guides students from the first to the final draft of their assignment using our similarity, citation, and grammar-checking tools. This document provides instructions for users to configure Turnitin Draft Coach with Google Docs.

Instructions 

When adding the Turnitin Draft Coach add-in for the first time to Google Docs:

  1. Sign into your google account with your UMaine System Credentials (@maine.edu.)
  2. Launch "Google Docs" from the google apps launcher.  This is located in the top right corner of your google account, the icon looks like a series of tiles in 3 rows and appears beside your account image.
  3. Open an existing Google Doc, OR:
    1. Select "+ Blank" under "start a new document
    2. Select "File:New:New Document" from Google Doc's menu bar.
  4. Select "Extensions" in the Google Doc's menu bar.
  5. Select "Turnitin Draft Coach" from the pull down menu options.
  6. A new window with "Turnitin Draft Coach" will appear on the right hand side of your document.
  7. Select the button at the bottom of the user agreement to "agree" to terms of use and then "Turnitin Draft Coach" will load for your use.
  8. Select "Learn More" to explore the documented features of Turnitin Draft Coach.
