Academic Video Online Brightspace Integration

Faculty user guide for using the Academic Video Online database integration to search and embed videos or links to videos from this library database into Brightspace courses.

Instructions

Linking to Content using "existing activities" 

1. Navigate to your Brightspace Course's "Content" area.
2. Select the course content module where you wish to add the video link.
3. Select "Existing Activities" pull-down menu.
4. Select "Academic Video Online."
5. You will see the Academic Video Online splash screen load and present a "Search" field at the top of the screen.
6. Enter your video search terms, hit return,  and locate your video.
7. Select the "Return Link" button to insert a link to the video into your Brightspace course.

Embedding a Video in a Brightspace File using "Insert Stuff"

1. Navigate to your Brightspace Course's "Content" area.
2. Select the course content module where you wish to add the video link.
3. Create or Select a Brightspace File that you wish to embed the video into.
4. Select "Insert Stuff" Icon from the Text Editor of the document.
5. You will see the Alexander Street Video splash screen load and present a "Search" field at the top of the screen.
6. Enter your video search terms, hit return,  and locate your video.
7. Select the "Return Link" button to insert a link to the video into your Brightspace course OR select "Embed Medium Size" or "Embed Large Size" to place the video directly into the Brightspace File.
