Who is required to submit a CS Access Request Form?

ALL new employees who require access to student information in MaineStreet (instructors, staff in academic and student support areas) should request access via the Access Request form. Please note that MaineStreet is our PeopleSoft Student Information System (SIS), which is separate from Brightspace, our Learning Management System (LMS).

Where do I get my FERPA Training Certificate?

After you have completed the required FERPA training module in UMS Academy, click the download button from within the module (bottom right: cloud icon with a download arrow in it).

Do existing employees need to (re)request CS Access?

Only if an existing employee has a change in position, or has a new function added to their responsibilities in their current position.

Should employees in non-instructional roles use the CS Access form to request new or revised access?

ALL new employees who require access to student information (instructors, staff in academic and student support areas) should request access via the Access Request form. Also in cases where an existing employee has a change in position, or has a new function added to their responsibilities in their current position.

How do I request changes to my existing access?

The Access Request form should be used to request changes to existing access.  The form provides options for indicating what new access is required for those who already have access.

Should student employees request access through the CS Access Request form?

No. Supervisors of student employees should contact their campus Security Liaison for guidance (see table at right for contact information). 

Whom do I contact if I’m not sure how to fill out the form?

Contact your campus security liaison (See the Campus Solutions Access Requests Article) with any questions regarding the information needed on the form.

How does a University of Maine System employee who is not affiliated with a specific campus request access to the student information system?

The CS Access Request form is used by UMS employees who are not affiliated with a specific campus to request access.  The form provides an option for indicating the  “UMS” affiliation. The UM security liaison is the contact for UMS employees (see table at right).
