How do I stream video, share photos, or mirror my screen to an in-room display/projector using the room’s screen sharing device?

Solution

AirPlay/iOS Screen Sharing Connectivity

Stream video, share photos, and mirror your screen to the in-room display/projector through the room’s screen sharing device.

Notes

  • Devices and equipment will not display copyrighted content.
  • Make sure your iPhone, iPad, or Mac is on eduroam.
  • Devices must meet minimum requirements for AirPlay (macOS 11+ and iOS 13+).

Mirror Your iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Control Center:
    • iPhone X or later / iPadOS 13+: Swipe down from top-right.
    • iPhone 8 or earlier: Swipe up from bottom.
  2. Tap Screen Mirroring.

  3. Choose the Screen Sharing Device in your room (example: UMA CAP 118 Think Tank).
  4. If prompted, enter the AirPlay code shown on the TV or Mac.
  5. To stop → Open Control Center → Screen Mirroring → Stop Mirroring.

Mirror Your Mac

  1. On your Mac, click Control Center icon (two slider switches). in the menu bar (top right-hand corner of the screen).
  2. Click Screen Mirroring icon (two overlapping rectangles)., then select your room’s screen sharing device. It will look like a building abbreviation followed by your room number.
  3. Enter the four-digit code on the display into your Mac.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to choose whether to share a window or to mirror/extend your Mac screen on your TV/Projector.

To change your selection, click Screen Mirroring icon (two overlapping rectangles)., then click Change. To add additional windows, click Add Window. When you’re done sharing, click the Stop button.

Windows/Android Screen Sharing Connectivity

Stream video, share photos, and mirror your screen to the in-room display/projector through the room’s screen sharing device.

Notes

  • Devices and equipment will not display copyrighted content.
  • Make sure your Windows PC, tablet, or Android phone is on the eduroam network.
  • Devices must meet the minimum requirements for Miracast (Windows 10/11 and Android).

Connect to ScreenBeam from Windows (Windows 10/11)

  1. On your PC, press Windows Key + K.
  2. A list of available wireless displays will appear.
  3. Select the ScreenBeam device name shown on the room display.
  4. If prompted, enter the PIN/code shown on the screen.
  5. Your screen will connect and mirror to the display.
  6. To stop → Press Windows Key + K again, then select Disconnect.

Share from Zoom Desktop Client (Windows) to Zoom Rooms

  1. Open the Zoom desktop client.
  2. Click Share Screen (without joining a meeting).
  3. Enter the Sharing Key or Meeting ID displayed on the Zoom Room screen.
  4. Click Share Screen.

Connect ScreenBeam from Android Phone

  1. On your Android device, open Quick Settings (swipe down from the top of the screen).
  2. Look for Smart View, Cast, Screen Cast, or Wireless Display (name varies by device).
  3. Tap the option, then select the ScreenBeam device name.
  4. If prompted, enter the PIN/code shown on the display.
  5. Your phone’s screen will now mirror to the display.
  6. To stop → Open Quick Settings again, tap Smart View/Cast, then tap Disconnect.

Share from Zoom Mobile App (Android) to Zoom Rooms

  1. Open the Zoom App on your phone or tablet.
  2. Tap Share Screen.
  3. Enter the Sharing Key or Meeting ID shown on the Zoom Room display.
  4. Tap OK/Join.
  5. Choose the content to share (e.g., entire screen, photos, files).
  6. To stop sharing → Tap Stop Share.
