Transfer a Call in the Webex Calling (Desktop)

How do I transfer a call in the Webex App (desktop version)?

Solution

  1. Be on an active call in Webex.
  2. Click More (⋯) or locate the Transfer button in the call window.
  3. Select Transfer.
  4. Enter the number or the person’s name you want to transfer the call to.
    • Use the 10-digit phone number.
    • Search by name to find the person in the directory.
    • Select someone from your Contacts.
  5. Choose how you want to transfer:
    • Consult (Attended) Transfer – Speak to the destination person first, then complete the transfer.
    • Blind Transfer – Transfer immediately without consulting.
  6. Click Complete Transfer. Your line will disconnect, and the call will go to the destination.

Example

Imagine you’re on a call with a client about billing and realize someone in Billing needs to take over.

  • Click More → Transfer
  • Search for “Alice Smith – Billing” and select her number
  • Choose Consult first so you can say: “Hey Alice, I have [client] on the line regarding invoice #123.”
  • Click Complete Transfer to finish

If you prefer to transfer immediately, choose Blind / Transfer now and the call goes straight through.
