Description
The Change Username service allows UMS account holders to request a one-time, non-reversible change to their UMS account username. This should be considered carefully, as changing your username can affect access to various UMS systems and services.
Important considerations before changing your username:
- The operation cannot be undone.
- Email addressed to your previous UMS email address will be forwarded for six months, after which it will no longer be delivered.
- Access to MaineStreet, the Campus Solutions portal, and other PeopleSoft applications will reflect your new username shortly after the change.
- Some systems may not recognize your new username immediately; you may experience delays or need to manually update saved credentials.
- You will need to update saved usernames in client programs (email clients, network profiles, etc.).
- A special process supports username changes in Brightspace, and while content is preserved, the process may take 1-4 hours to complete.

- Justification or reason for requesting the username change (if required by policy)
