Repair or reinstall Google Chrome (Windows)

If you're experiencing issues or errors in Google Chrome, you may need to repair or reinstall the browser.

Instructions

Repair Chrome

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Type "Control Panel."
  3. Open the Control Panel app.
  4. Under Programs, select "Uninstall a program."
  5. Click once on Google Chrome.
  6. Click the Repair button from the top banner.

If repairing Chrome does not resolve your issue, try reinstalling Chrome.

Reinstall Chrome

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Type "Control Panel."
  3. Open the Control Panel app.
  4. Under Programs, select "Uninstall a program."
  5. Click once on Google Chrome.
  6. Click the Uninstall button from the top banner.
  7. After Chrome has been successfully uninstalled, Download Google Chrome (External Link)
  8. Download the installation file.
  9. If prompted, click Run or Save.
    1. If you choose Save, to start installation, either double-click the download or click Open file.
  10. If you're asked, "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device," click Yes.
  11. Start Chrome.
